First Day of Classes
Today was the first day of Fall classes. I have three classes this semester since I am trying to push through and get my degree so I can move away from Cancer Center (E-ville is situated between two polluting factories and a coal burning energy factory) as soon as possible. Three classes is full-time status for a grad student so I expect to be busy, busy, busy.
Today I went to my "Leadership in Business" class. The first person I see when I walk into the classroom is one of my partners from my horrid Marketing class. I say a silent pray that we will not have group work (almost all grad classes do) or that I will not have to work with her again.
We do have group work but luckily the professor let's us pick our groups. Each group has to do a paper and presentation on a leadership book and a paper analyzing a leader in today's society. We get to pick our book but the professor assigned us our leader. Groups were assigned people like Gandhi, Bill Gates, Jimmy Carter (my favorite former President!). And who, you may ask, did I get assigned...none other than GEORGE W. BUSH! Ugh!
Isn't it bad enough that I have to live in a
red state surrounded by conservative Nazis? Now I have to analyze W's "leadership" skills for a grade!
Thankfully I like the professor. She seems really interested in the field she is teaching which is a plus since I have her for two of my three classes this semester.
